Chinese Paladin 3
Prequel to Chinese Paladin
Chinese Paladin 3 is the third game in a popular Chinese game series and the story takes place about 50 years before the events of Chinese Paladin. Jian Tian is a mischievous pawnshop assistant who wants to become wealthy. Who meets Tang Xue Jian, granddaughter of the Tang Manor's Tang Kun. Soon an evil sect tries to take over the Manor. Also we have Lord of the evil world, Chong Lou who is looking for a magical sword. Jian Tian, Tang Xue Jian and others join forces to defeat their foes.
I like Chinese Paladin 3 more so than I liked Chinese Paladin. The characters are good and some get more development than others. I liked the cutting back and forth between generations and the bring of events from the past. I thought this was interesting devise that they used, it made things more interesting and they did it well enough that you were not too confused by the events that took place. I also like some of the humour better thought at times it seemed too much. I also enjoyed the music in it very much.
Here Hu Ge return and plays Jian Tian who is similar to Xao Yao in many ways. Jian Tian was not my favorite character and I read that Jian Tian character had been change, which I think was a shame. I wanted to see a different character than another version of Xao Yao. Hu Ge also plays Long Yang and Fei Peng. He does a relatively good job with them, but they didn't seem to have much beyong the typical tragic figures.

Then we have Yang Mi who plays Xue Jian who is similar to Yue Ru from Chinese Paladin. Having seen Yang Mi Palace Lock Heart Jade, I thought she was okay as Xue Jian. I found that I liked Xi Yao better. She was not as annoying as Xue Jian and was similar to Zu Xian though she learns how to let go.
I really liked Wallace Huo as Xu Chang Qing. Chang Qing was very skilled yet still humble and naive all together. But I would have liked him to be a little less angst-y has the story progressed. But I was disappointed that his previous two lives were quiet close to how we find him and Taoist as well.
Tang Yan plays Zi Xuan, a mysterious, beautiful and headstrong she is Qing'er's mother and Ling'er's grandmother from Chinese Paladin. Zi Xuan steals the most light from almost everyone but I found quite stubborn and I liked her less when she was just willing to sacrifice her daughter.
Long Kui was by far the weaker of the female character though Red Long Kui had so much to add to a character as a whole. Plus I didn't understand why she tortured herself for over a thousand just for her brother. I felt her love was more than familial but I think company did not want to deal with issues of incest. But I think is could have a very interesting character but Blue Long Kui was forgettable and was there far more than Red.

I liked the eccentric feel to Chong Lou though be comes just a supporting character and doesn't have much screen time. In the game I heard he was the main villain instead of that ghost of the Taoist Masters.
This was an over all enjoyable series and an improvement from Chinese Paladin. Another thing I liked about Chinese Paladin 3 was that there was real lips to lips kissing which I have not seen in other Chinese series I have seen. I felt the over arching story was lacking in some parts and their were some non coherent parts.
